Celebrating the Pastor of Broadway

April 13, 2010 in General, News

joekelly_01Fr. Joe Kelly SJ served for years on the Boards of the Broadway Association, the Times Square Alliance, and the Mayor’s Midtown Citizens Committee. He was also the beloved Parochial Vicar of St. Malachy’s,  The Actors’ Chapel, and was responsible for having the section of 49th Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway named “St. Malachy’s Way”.  He was a much-sought-after speaker and a friend to all.  To honor him for his tireless work and his wonderful contributions to the Times Square neighborhood and the entertainment community, his caricature will hang with the “greats” on the wall at Sardi’s, a well-known Broadway restaurant. The picture will be unveiled at a cocktail party on Wednesday, May 26, 5:30-7:30 pm.
