Good buzz in Loyola

In mid-February, the Jesuit European Committee for Secondary Education (JECSE) held a conference in Loyola, Spain, for some 112 schoolmen from all over Europe (eleven of them from Ireland), specifically with a view to digesting the fruits of the 35th General Congregation. In this first get-together of pastoral coordinators and chaplains, the presence of a large number of Jesuits had a cheering effect and made for a good buzz. It was instructive too to see how colleagues had explored creative and interesting ways (YouTube, Facebook and the like) of reaching young people. Jim Corkery was the keynote speaker, and Brendan McManus worked on the steering committee.
