Death of Fr. Finbarr Clancy SJ

The death has occurred of Fr. Finbarr Gerard Clancy S.J., member of the Clongowes Community, Clane, Co. Kildare and formerly of the Milltown Institute of Philosophy and Theology, on July 15th 2015, peacefully, following a short illness at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin.  Son of the late Dr. Martin & Margaret Clancy, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Marie-Therese and Eavan, brother-in-law Bryan, nephew Michael, nieces Susan, Olwen, Amy, Martina and Fiona, Aunts, Sr. Maria and Sr. Miriam (C.P.), extended family and the Jesuit Community, Staff and Students in Clongowes, his Jesuit Brethren of the Irish Province and his many colleagues and friends.

Prayers in the Chapel, Milltown Park at 4pm on Friday.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in Milltown Park followed by burial in Clongowes Wood College Community Cemetery.

May he rest in the peace of Christ.

  3. I was greatly saddened to hear of Finbarrs sudden passing. We were in the Novitiate together. He was always full of Grace and personal gentleness. I will always remember his great modesty and humility. The most memory I have of Finbarr was that he was kind. A great blessing to have shared time with him in Manresa and an example of what goodness is. I will remember him always with love.
