About

Gonzaga College was founded in 1950 as a day school for boys under the direction of the Society of Jesus. At present there are five hundred and twenty boys on the College rolls.

The objectives of Gonzaga include the formation of young adults who will be capable of living in and contributing to the community to which they belong; who will have ideals of excellence in all aspects of their lives – spiritual, moral, intellectual; who will be inspired by faith and imbued with the determination to build an ever more just society.

In so far as is possible, pupils in Gonzaga are helped to integrate into their lives a deep and mature faith, founded on a solid knowledge of Christian teaching; to grow in judgement and sensibility, aesthetic sense, self-expression, a sense of community and of civil and social duty; and in depth of understanding.

Parents who send their children to Gonzaga share these ideals. They know, as does the school, that the fostering of growth towards them demands a common approach which underlines all educational effort. They know too, as does the school, that the ultimate success of all their efforts depends on God’s grace and that the fulfilment of all education is found in His love.
