For the second consecutive year, Saint Beuno’s Spirituality Centre in North Wales is offering retreats for young adults for as little as Stg£25. The Director of St Beuno’s, David Birchall SJ, notes that typical retreats costing Stg£300 to Stg£400 are too expensive, particularly for those in the 18-30 age group. So for an eight-day retreat beginning on Friday, June 6, and a six-day retreat from Thursday, 26 June, St Beuno’s is offering an individually guided retreat from just £25 deposit. “These retreats are being guided by those on our 10-week course (the Practice of Retreat Giving and Spiritual Direction), so we need a lot of retreatants,” says David. “We also are very aware that many people, particularly the young, don’t have
sufficient money for our usual offerings, but would benefit from an Ignatian retreat.
“This scheme was introduced last year, and proved successful. We ask or a deposit of £25 in order that people feel committed; then if they an afford a little more we certainly won’t refuse it. Last year people were very responsible: many came to us at the end of the retreat and said that they had found the experience so worthwhile they wanted to give some
more money, whilst others just didn’t have any more to give.”
The special rate is for those who do not have the money to pay the usual rates, particularly those between the ages of 18 and 30. For more details, contact Fr David Birchall SJ, Director, St Beuno’s, St Asaph, LL17 0AS. Phone: 01745 583444; or email: email@example.com.
