Magis Ireland makes its mark

magis_01The Jesuit outreach to young adults, Magis Ireland, had a name change in 2010. According to the director, Padraig Swan, “We have had a great start to our life under the new banner, providing opportunities for many young adults to explore their faith and spirituality. The Advent retreat in Manresa was a real experience of peace and preparation for Christmas for those who took part.” All the places for volunteers for the Magis Ireland projects in South Africa and Jamaica have been filled, and there has been great interest in their pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Madrid next August. There are a number of Discover groups around the city, and Magis Ireland plans to start up a new Jesuit Volunteer Community in January. “All of these are real expressions of our slogan – ‘more for your life and more for our world'”.
