Moyross walks tall

moyross_01The people of Moyross, Limerick, who celebrated the RTE Radio Mass for the last two Sundays, have been buoyed up by the many messages received from people around Ireland, England and even as far away as Spain, who found the liturgy uplifting.  The young man who read one bidding prayer had been shot in the head less than a year ago. He is recovering well, and this was, he said, ‘one of his ways of saying thanks to God’. The singers included the choir of the National School in Moyross, and a group of asylum seekers who sang in English and Yoruba. Acting PP Tony O’Riordan SJ called it a celebration of the spirit, talent and resilience of people who are used to negative media coverage, and endure a lot of unnecessary hardship and suffering. Both broadcasts can be found on the RTE website.
