Plan for social housing units in Kildare
Mr Pat Doyle, CEO of Peter McVerry Trust, spoke to Clem Ryan on Kildare Today radio, on 4 August 2021. In the interview he talked about the trust’s ambition to deliver 1,200 new social housing units by 2025, including a significant number of units in County Kildare. It is part of their strategic plan 2021-2025 which was recently launched by An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD, in Cork City.
Outside of Dublin, the trust’s largest number of services are in County Kildare. Mr Doyle noted on behalf of Kildare County Council the trust runs the main Supported Temporary Accommodation in the county.
The area of the county the service wants to focus on is Maynooth, Prosperous, Newbridge, Naas, Kildare town, Monasterevin and Celbridge.
